IESF - Instituto de Estudos Superiores Financeiros e Fiscais (the Institute for Finance and Tax Studies) is the main project of Espaço Atlântico - Formação Financeira, an Institution existing since 1990, dealing with broadly understood Management concepts, studies and development. FINANCE AND TAX MANAGEMENT COURSE (BSC., WITH HONOURS)
The purpose of this course is to train management experts, with deep knowledge of finance and tax management, endowed with a solid knowledge in Economics, Corporate Law, Accounting, Quantitative Methods, Information Systems and Management. Beyond this basic training, the course structure provides students exceptional skills in a wide range of areas such as auditing, finance, taxing. The course is accredited by Câmara dos Técnicos Oficiais de Contas (CTOC), the Portuguese Chamber for Chartered Accountants. Several Seminars and a professional training period in a corporative environment are part of the course and complete the interface between education and the business community. The purpose of this course is to train business managers, able to enclose all aspects of business management, endowed with a solid knowledge in Economics, Corporate Law, Accounting, Quantitative Methods, Information Systems, Marketing and Management. Beyond this basic training, the curricular plan provides students exceptional skills in a wide range of areas such as human resources management, finance, taxing and commercial management. Several Seminars and a professional training period in a corporative environment are part of the course and complete the interface between education and the business community.
MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS
The objective of the “Management and Information Systems” degree is training management professionals, capable of dealing with all the areas related to Business Management, with a solid education on Economy, Law, Accounting, Quantitative Methods, Information Systems, Information Technologies, Networks and Communications, Information Management and Company Management. Their sensibility on those matters should overcome the frontier of the Business Science area in which they will be inserted. The purpose of the degree is to train professionals capable of managing companies and Information Systems, or create and develop business in those areas. The graduate should know how to analyze real business problems with specific knowledge on Information Systems, Information and Communication Technologies.
ADMISSIONS
The candidates wishing to apply for admission to IESF must fulfil the following requirements:
a) To have completed secondary education or an equivalent qualification.
b) To have passed the entry examinations relevant to the course the student wishes to apply for, as required under the Portuguese regulatory bodies. The entry examinations correspond to the Portuguese secondary education national exams, which take place on the dates and at the schools nominated by the Ministry of Education. The minimum classification required by IESF in the admission tests is 95 points in a scale of 0 to 200.

The overall admission grade is made up of the final classification from secondary education exams and the entrance exam classification, contributing 50% each.
